| Today,
the Tennessee Titans play in one of the
NFL’s best stadiums. But the team
did not always play in the best stadiums
prior to moving into Adelphia Coliseum.
After 30 years of playing in Houston, TX
at the Astrodome, the team, then known as
the Houston Oilers, began wanting a new
football only stadium in the mid 1990’s.
After numerous attempts to get a stadium
failed, the team decided to move to Nashville,
TN. There was one problem though, Nashville
did not have a stadium ready for the team,
by the time they moved in 1996. While a
new stadium was being constructed in Nashville,
the Titans played at the Liberty Bowl, and
Vanderbilt Stadium.
